In June, the “Victim of Beauty” spread in Bulgaria’s 12 Magazine prompted an outcry for models in disturbing makeup. Magazine editor Huben Hubenov stood by the series, telling the New York Daily News in an email, “a lot of people read ‘domestic violence’ in those pictures, but it is their mind who came up with that explanation of the shoot, not ours.”
