Two Miami, Ivan Rogel, 45, and Carlos Prieto, 34, men were charged with theft and criminal mischief after being accused of trying to siphon 280-gallons of diesel fuel valued at $1,108 with personal electronic devices from a Wildwood gas station, reports The Daily Commercial in Leesburg.
Their plan had a flaw: Employees called 911 after realizing the two men took way too long to fill the 29-gallons of gas that showed up on the store’s register, according to the report.
A deputy then found an electronic device that bypasses the store’s gallon counter connected from the truck to the pump.
NO GREAT SCHEME IS FLAWLESS!! I KNOW GAS PRICES ARE HIGH BUT EVERYONE MUST PAY! LOL
