When Albert Miller tried to use a ball retriever to remove his golf ball from a water hazard at the 15th green at Lake Ashton Golf Club in Winter Haven, things did not go as planned, according to a news release from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

A 9-foot alligator (pictured above) bit him on the left knee. Miller’s three golfing partners then pulled him out of water, away from the alligator.

Miller, 75, of Winter Haven, was transported to a hospital serious, but not life-threatening, injuries to his left knee, the report states.

“He lifted me up three feet and slammed me down,” Miller told the The Ledger in Lakeland. “I was three feet from my life. He had me submerged up to my belt buckle.”

Later FWC trappers quickly located and caught the gator.

WOW…I SUSPECT EVERY BODY OF WATER HAS A ALLIGATOR IN IT!!
