VIA TBO: CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A New Jersey woman aboard a US Airways flight from Charlotte to Fort Myers was arrested Tuesday afternoon after attacking crew members before she was wrestled to the jet’s floor by an off-duty deputy, officials said.

Peggy S. Albedhady-Sanchez, 50 (pictured above), of Union City, N.J., faces three counts of battery and one count of interfering with an aircraft, according to an arrest report from the Lee County Port Authority Police Department.

The woman apparently was intoxicated aboard US Airways flight 1697, she kicked, spit on, and cursed at a flight attendant after the crew member refused to serve her alcohol, the report said. After that a male attendant who tried to intervene was slapped across the jaw, the arrest report said.

Albedhady-Sanchez kicked a second male flight attendant in the groin as an off-duty Lee County deputy wrestled her to the back of the jet, there she continued kicking after her hands were cuffed by plastic restraints and broke an armrest.

The woman was screaming and crying while she was checked by medics in the terminal at Southwest Florida International Airport before being taken away, according to WNCN-TV of Raleigh, N.C., which said one of its reporters spoke to arriving crew members in the terminal

Flight attendants told WNCN-TV that the woman complained she was afraid of flying shortly before her outburst.

She was being held Wednesday with no bail set on one of the battery charges, and $5,500 set on the other three charges, according to Lee County Jail website.

JEEZ, DID NO ONE ON THIS FLIGHT WATH THE A-TEAM SERIES, WHERE MR. T WAS SOO SCARED OF FLYING THAT THEY HAD TO KNOCK HIM OUT. WELL, THIS LADY WAS SELF MEDICATING HERSELF FOR THE SAME EFFECT. BUT REALLY, SOMEONE SHOULD’VE TOLD HER THE GREYHOUND GOES TO FORT MYERS AS WELL.
