It looks as though undercover detectives posing as taxicab drivers in Marathon in an operation dubbed Taxi Cab Confessions got a lot of mileage for their efforts.
Over a four-month time period, the detectives purchased pot and cocaine as well as stolen property including six stolen GPS devices and two stolen radar detectors, according to a news release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives were able to identify a number of drug dealers — and where they lived. On Thursday morning, they served a search warrant at the Marathon home of Pshantell Veronique Scott, 38, who had sold them cocaine on two occasions.
The search turned up a black zippered case with cocaine and crack cocaine cookies inside, according to the release. Several more arrests are expected in connection with the operation.
